Where to even start? I had heard about this beautiful train ride for years and I was really excited to have the opportunity to take it. It's antiquated and could definitely use updating, but the view-pristine! Winding through the jungle and tea plantations, stumbling on waterfall after waterfall and the cutest train stations I've seen. It feels like you're stepping back in time. You could order a hot lunch- and the bonus was the party car! They had disco ball, strobe lights and loud music. Which is probably why it didn't seem like such a long ride. Hopping up every few minutes to get to the door to take pictures or video's, plus the social car made this a truly enjoyable ride.

Hoping the train is in better shape than this one...

This is truly a beautiful country. The trip was over 6 hours, and it just flew by. Taking pictures, spotting waterfalls, partying in the rear cars—a wonderful experience. What you'll notice is how cute the train stations are... look! The only disappointment was that the further we got into the mountains, the more it rained.

Once we made it to Ella, it was crazy. Getting off, getting luggage, then I found out there are 20 or so stairs I need to lug all my bags up. I was fortunate that someone offered to carry them for me! I guess none of the train stations or bus stations have escalators or elevators—be advised! Now off to explore this quaint little town I've read so much about.
