Casco Viejo was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Some of the places I visited are listed below with photo's beneath. I'm starting with photo's from old town, just to give you a feel for it. And of course street art. Then the historical/tourist sites, Amador Causeway(Waterfront) and skyline of downtown.
El Arco Chato: An iconic flat arch from the Iglesia Santo Domingo ruins. The 17th-century church burned down in 1756, but the remaining arch is known as El Arco Chato. The arch stands 35 feet tall.
La Cathedral Metropolitana or Catedral de Panama, is an 18th-century church featuring Baroque architecture. It took more than 100 years to build the impressive structure. The church features two towers containing mother of pearl, with an interior featuring a marble alter.
Plaza Herrera is a public square with old architecture, a hotel, and bars. The plaza features an equestrian statue of General Tomás Herrera, a local hero who fought to revolt South America from Spain and later for the freedom of Panama from Columbia.
La Calle De los Sombreros is a street with cafes and shops and of course the umbrella of hats.
El mural historico Casco Viejo(Historic mural in Old Town/Casco Viejo)
Plaza de Francia (Original town square, now French Plaza dedicated to France's role in building the Panama Canal)
Mercado de Mariscos. This is a seafood market has many outdoor stalls selling ceviche, fried fish, lobster, octopus, filets, rice, fries, yuca, and more.

French Plaza, SombrerosStreet, Plaza Carluis and Plaza Herrerra below.
It reminds me a lot of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Great nightlife for those still into that. Overall, worth the visit! Next I'm heading up to the Rainforest. Should be cooler there.
