So I couldn't be in northern Vietnam and not go to Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay, including Islets of Con Vit(World Heritage Site). So I took the cruise to see the limestone karsts landscape and it is beautiful! We also got to take a row boat cruise through Dark Cave, which was even more beautiful, but it was raining quite hard-which was too bad! Overall, it was a worthwhile excursion for the nature lover, but I will say, 1 night is enough. They also have 2 night packages, but I think you would be bored-just my opinion. Anyway, after that, on to the mountains- SaPa where I got to trek through the mountains and see traditional villages and even purchased some handmade fabrics. I went to CatCat village where I saw traditional dances and music as well as waterfalls-lovely! Then on to Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai and TaVan villages. Quite the trek, but it was also very interesting to see how people still live in these traditional villages.

Then on to Sapa the next day. Beautiful northern countryside bordering China.

Trekking to the 3 villages...

Nice relaxing north country locations if you like nature and hiking.

This is a video of dancers performing a traditional dance in CatCat Village. Below Moana in Sapa.
