The next day I went to see the Tunnels and Mekong Delta from the war. This was very hard to view as well. I truly can't believe how people lived underground in those tiny tunnels for years. And it was everyday citizens fighting for peace within their country, not just trained soldiers. Then I was off to Mui Ne- a small coastal town with red and white sand dunes. I also went island hopping, which was a relaxing day at the beach-much needed!

So shown above are the entrances to the tunnels, traps for US soldiers-not to kill, but to injure, and leftover equipment, and weapons from the war. I entered one of the tunnels, but only traveled 20 yards, it was too tiny. The disguised breathing holes as termite mounds, and again, it's hard to see was up close and personal-even when it's just a replica...

Once we left and took a boat over to the Mekong river, we also got to stop at a Coconut Candy factory where we watched them make the candy and taste it, as well as Snake liquor-it wasn't bad.

There was also Scorpion liquor, I opted not to taste that one. Homemade honey/jasmine tea with candy and carmelized bananas. Fresh fruit- Jackfruit, passion fruit, Pineapple and delicious seafood for lunch. It was a great tour-definitely way more food than expected.

Local musicians as we're tasting the fruit and juice.
Making coconut candy.
Final step.

Mui Ne where I went out on ATV and watch the sunset on the red sand dunes.

The next day further up the coast to Nha Trang.

Top two is the view from the pool at the hotel. Below that, I spent the afternoon at a beach club-so relaxing. Probably the best part of my time in Nga Trang!

So just a quick 2 days on the coast, but I definitely enjoyed my time there. Overall enjoying southern Vietnam, but admittedly, the tunnels were really difficult. War is always difficult...anyway, one last stop before I'm done with my tour of Vietnam. Dalat!
