Started my trip in Johannesburg /Soweto. Of course I had to go to Nelson Mandela's first home and Winny Mandela's family home. It was totally not what I was expecting. It's portrayed as a shantytown, it's not. It's a normal middle class suburb. This is Mandela's first home and the water towers and sign at the entrance for the city.

Below is the Memorial for the children that died in 1976. They were having a peaceful protest and the police opened fire on them killing several children(they said 700 fatalities).




A really nice town with a lot of history. Also, they are very proud of Mandela and it shows!
