When I arrived in Ipoh, I decided to explore solo instead of on a tour. I started with Ipoh war memorial. For all from 1939-1990. It's worth it to enlarge and read the signs.
Former Majestic Hotel(British). Now train station.
Sultan's palace and old buildings. I like the architecture and street art.
Then hopped over to old town and followed the heritage trail.
This is all I have from old town. Next up: Tong Sui Kai Hawker Center or Dessert Street!!! Blocks dedicated to street food, no longer just desserts. They are open daily from 6pm to midnight due to the heat. It seems like it's more happening at night than during the day nation wide!
First one is dessert. Shaved ice topped with flavored jello. I had pineapple. Then Indian bridal pastries(flaky crust with filling-fruit or meat)
